List of isopod suborders from animalfact.com
Since it's still winter, not much is going on in terms of bug/crustacean hunting. My colonies are going about business as usual and there isn't much to say. Tonight, though, I found two really good things that give a foundation for identifying or at least narrowing down isopods that you may see outside. American Isopod and Myriapod Group has this article that includes helpful photos and diagrams along with tips for figuring out what kind of pod you have. animalfact.com has a very printable looking graphic of the different isopod suborders. The rest of the article is good info and the site is neat, but I loooove this image specifically (even tho the majority of isopods you actually see are oniscidea). They do have something similar for the true bugs that might be more practically useful lmao
