If you've made it this far here's some bonus lore:
- The beetle from my dream had the head and legs of a rhinoceros beetle but the soft wings and abdomen of a moth or spotted lantern fly. The big reddish/orange spots were there. He was only about an inch or inch and a half long but I made him Big for the painting. Focused on showing it exactly as I saw it so that I could show my buddy how he looked. I wish you could take pics in dreams
- The Alexander portrait was done without a reference.
- The constellation in Well is Hydra. The statue is a herm.
- The first painting included was based off a dream I had in high school where Jupiter's red spot was replaced with a huge blinking eye. I saw it looking at me through a telescope. Seeing that so clearly and needing to show it kinda got me into painting in general. A lot of my original stuff comes from dreams.
